What MedPlans is
MedPlans Insurance Agency LLC is an independent, U.S.-based health insurance agency. Independent means we're not owned by a carrier and we don't sell a single company's product. We compare plans from more than fifty carriers across ACA marketplace, off-marketplace individual plans, dental and vision riders, supplemental products, and small-business coverage. Our recommendations are based on what fits your household — not on what pays the highest commission.
Our service is free. We're compensated by the carrier when you enroll, at the same rate whether you find the plan through us, on your own, or through another broker. That model lets us stay independent while giving you access to licensed advisors at no cost.
Who's behind MedPlans
Every conversation you have with MedPlans is with a state-licensed health insurance agent. Our advisors are appointed with the major carriers you'd expect to see, complete ongoing carrier certifications each year, and are supported by a compliance team that reviews advertising, disclosures, and consent language.

Editorial policy: education content on MedPlans is written for clarity, reviewed by a licensed agent, and updated on a rolling basis to reflect the current plan year. Where figures could change year to year — subsidy thresholds, HSA limits, deductible minimums — we use ranges and direct you to HealthCare.gov for current figures.
How the plan finder works
Our 90-second plan finder quiz asks the small number of questions that actually predict which plan structure fits you: coverage type (individual, family, small business), utilization, budget, provider preferences, and any dental or vision needs. It returns a plan-type recommendation and connects you with a licensed advisor who can pull real quotes from your ZIP code and walk through the options.
There's no obligation to enroll. The advisor call is a consultation, not a pitch. If the right answer is a plan you can buy yourself directly on HealthCare.gov without us, that's the answer we give you.
Why we're free
Health insurance carriers pay licensed agents a fixed commission per enrollment. That commission is baked into the premium whether you use an agent or not — so declining to use one doesn't save you money. Working with MedPlans costs you nothing additional; it just gets you a licensed human who can compare options and answer questions the marketplace interface can't.
What we don't do
We don't sell your information to lead aggregators outside of the marketing partners you consent to when you submit a request. We don't cold-call people who haven't asked to hear from us. We don't push a specific carrier because they pay us more — every advisor is trained and audited to recommend the plan that fits.
